Tympanoplasty Animated GIF
Diagram showing the right external auditory canal and a perforated tympanic membrane. The temporalis fascia graft is inserted under the posterior tympanomeatal flap and advanced underneath the tympanic membrane to patch the perforation. It is placed lateral to the manubrium of the malleus, to cover it. Finally, it is then pulled out into the canal to be anchored under the anterior (Bailey) flap.
